SECONDARY TRANSITION AT SEACREST PREPARATORY
Though we are a secondary school, our youngest students (aged 10+) are in Year 6. We feel that it is vital that all children finish their primary education by completing Year 6. Having this year group on the secondary campus has been a very positive experience for our Transition Class. When many of their peers moved on to secondary school after Primary 5, they too have ‘moved on’.
We believe that allowing students to complete Year 6 gives them a solid academic background and the needed maturity before going to boarding school or continuing with us in Year 7. For those parents whose children did not get the results they expected at the end of Year 5, entry to our Secondary Transition Class offers an accelerated curriculum in a highly conducive secondary school environment. This affords such children more support as they prepare for common entrance examinations and a streamlined enrollment process into Year 7 at Seacrest Preparatory
